全球有1/3以上的人患有某种过敏性疾病。[1] 在中国，一项最新调查中国过敏性鼻炎及并发症的研究，在我国过敏性鼻炎发病率已由2005年的11.1%上升至2011年的17.6%[2]。如果您是其中之一，您会知道过敏能引起多少压力和不适。不停地喷嚏、瘙痒和红眼会给您的生活质量造成严重影响。[3] [4]

过敏有轻度到严重之分，而缓解通常只是暂时的。大多数抗过敏药物只能在几个小时内控制您的症状。[5]

我们相信有更好的方法解决病人的痛苦。人们正在寻找持续改善的机会。[6] [7] 在默克，我们致力于寻找创新的过敏性疾病的解决方案。通过我们的子公司Allergopharma，我们投入大量资源用于变应原免疫疗法（AIT），这包括一个用于与来自世界各地的研究机构和合作伙伴合作的专门研发部门。

不同于控制过敏症状的药物，AIT针对于过敏的根本原因。我们通过将患者暴露于小剂量的、逐渐增量的过敏原下，从而诱导患者的免疫系统以便更好地应对过敏。AIT可以帮助患者缓慢增加对过敏原的耐受性。[8]

解决过敏性疾病有三个要素：诊断、避免和治疗。我们针对每个要素都开发了一系列创新型方法。
