+ Storage safety

The hazard potential of the Merck produces, stores and markets varies considerably. In order to safety store these goods, global safety concepts apply to our warehouses worldwide. We have based these concepts on the German Chemical Industry Association storage concept, the basic principles of which are:

  • minimization of storage risks through segregated storage
  • protection of the environment through retention capacity for products in the event of leaks and extinguishing water
  • fire prevention through physical segregation into fire cells
  • automatic and partly redundant extinguishing units adapted to the products and materials being stored
  • occupational safety, e.g. through emergency drench showers and explosion protection measures
  • optimized material flow and work procedures in the warehouse
